How you can get involved…
Hope’s Garden has a large number of volunteers who get involved with all aspects of the organization. Here are a few ways that you might consider working with Hope’s Garden:
- Providing support and information to those who use our centre
- Planning and working at fundraising events
- Joining a committee
- Running a fundraiser of your own
- Countless other ways to get involved!
Drop in Support, Reception, and Adminstration Positions
The next volunteer information session will be Wednesday, February 22 from 5:30-7pm. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Those interested should be able to make a one year commitment of a minimum of two shifts per month (4-6 hours). Students returning home for the summer and who would return in September meet this requirement. Please note we are a support centre, not treatment, and thus drop–in support is not counseling. Training will be provided.
Please call 519.434.7721 to register for the session by February 6. Candidates are asked to bring their resume and two written references, or three names of references with phone and email contact information for each (or a combination there of).
Speaker’s Bureau Positions – Speaker’s Bureau recruiting is on hold until further notice.
Candidates must be 20 years of age or older. The Speaker’s Bureau is an outreach program designed to educate and empower those in the community. Hope’s Gardens’ trained speakers are able to speak on a variety of talks on subjects surrounding eating disorders. Candidates will have:
- A willingness and ability to speak in public
- An interest in learning more about the factors contributing to eating disorders
- A willingness and ability to commit to a monthly meeting and two presentations per month:

Experience supporting or treating those with Eating Disorders required. Those interesteed must be accredited in their field, and have their own liability insurance.
